Navigon for Windows Phone 7
I’ve been asking myself for a few times, when will we see the first offline GPS navigator for Windows Phone 7? I thought iGo would be the company to produce the first software, but I was wrong. Navigon has recently released the first offline GPS software compatible to Windows Phone. Maps from all over the world are available, route calculations, road warinings and everything you want: it’s all there. You no longer need an internet connection to find out where you are and how you can reach your destination.
The MobileNavigator for Windows Phone comes with a huge list of features, some of the most important are:
- Screen Rotation: rapidly change from landscape to portrait mode, Navigon makes full usage of your phone’s tilt sensor.
- Speed Assistant: Navigon knows what your speed limits on every road are. Every time you are approaching the speed limit, a small beep sign notifies that you should slow down.
- GPS simulation in tunnels – the software tries to detect your average speed and calculate your exact location even in tunnels.
- Points of interests – this feature is absolutely great when you’re visiting a place as a tourist. Find out quickly where you can do sightseing, visit interesting places or eat in a nice restaurant.
- 2D and 3D map view.
Navigon Mobile Navigator for Windows Phone costs $89.99, if you purchase a phone from Telekom (Germany) you get a free license for two years.
